Toronto Smartphone Film Festival wrapped up a successful 4th annual festival on Friday May 22nd. 2015 marks the first year that TSFF launches as a two-day festival, at Scotiabank Theatre on May 21st and Innis Town Hall on the 22nd. Approximately 400 audience members have attended this year's festival, enjoying 32 selected films from all over the world, and other festivities that included red carpet event, TSFF Best Photogenic Contest, and an after party.

Mingu Kim, the Executive Director of TSFF, commented: "We sincerely appreciate everyone who came out to the screenings. We had a successful year with a fantastic selection of films, and we hope to continue to expand the festival so that more people can experience the world of smartphone filmmaking, and be encouraged that they can be the ones making films themselves."

This year's jurors included Kristine Estorninos, film festival programmer/strategist, Andrew Moir, a documentary filmmaker, and Lesley Johnson, producer/filmmaker. The second day's screening was followed by an award ceremony. This year's awards went to:

  • TSFF Award ($1,000) – ‘Sector Zero 4’ by Dir. Alfonso Garcia Lopez
  • Samsung Best Canadian Film Award (Galaxy S6) – ‘Medic’ by Gerald Lising
  • Special Jury Award (Samsung Tab A) – ‘Darling’ by Patrick Parry
  • Acoustic Soul Audience Choice Award ($500) – ‘Bubbles Don't Lie’ by Stepan Etrych
