May 17, 2016 - Toronto, ON
As the largest smartphone film festival in Canada, Toronto Smartphone Film Festival (TSFF) has been providing filmmakers with a platform to showcase their work and talent for the past 4 years. For its 5th year anniversary, TSFF is returning on June 3 & 4, 2016 at Innis Town Hall and is thrilled to welcome TD Canada Trust as the presenting sponsor.
In previous years, TSFF featured different types of films from around the world including documentary, comedy, sci-fi, horror, and more. Films were awarded in categories such as Best Canadian Film and the Audience Choice Award.
This year, 31 official film selections will be screened over the 2 festival days and will be competing among the 6 award categories. The 3 jury members of the Toronto Smartphone Film Festival are currently reviewing 2 award categories – Best Canadian Film and Best International Film each awarding a cash prize of $1,000. In addition to the main awards, TSFF will present innovative and aspiring awards including “Women in Film,” “Best Film about Autism,” and “Emerging Filmmaker Award,” presented by 3 partnering organizations.
